Epic Waters: The Best Year-Round Waterpark You Need to Visit

You probably already know that I’m a big beach bum. Laying on the beach with a drink in hand is my ideal perfect day. Unfortunately, there’s no beach in Dallas so I spend a lot of time hanging out by the pool during the Summer. The other unfortunate thing is that Summer is long gone.

The last few weeks have been crazy and my hubby and I were in the mood for a fun getaway for the day. We had a few extra PTO days off from work, and decided to head to Epic Waters in Grand Prairie. It was the best decision ever! If you’re looking for a fun Summer-like escape in the middle of Winter then keep on reading!

Epic Waters is an 80,000 sq ft indoor waterpark located in Grand Prairie that’s open year-round and feels like Summer! The entire area is heated to 85 degrees and was a nice surprise from the cold weather outside. Keep scrolling down for more info on what to do at the park.

Take a Fun Ride Down the Slides!

Epic Waters has 11 waterslides. They even have a stand up slide that my hubby took a fun ride on. We rode many of the slides multiple times since there were no wait times during our Monday visit. I recommend visiting during the week or on a holiday so you don’t experience long waits or crowds.

Get Your Sip on at Longboard’s Bar

Drinks on deck! Longboards full service bar is the perfect spot for adults to enjoy a drink. My drink was fruity, sweet, and tasted like vacation in a glass. I really enjoyed watching people surf on the Flowrider while sitting at the bar. I have horrible balance, so I didn’t surf but it looked like tons of fun!

Go Rollin’ on the Lazy River

Please cue up the Tina Turner because the lazy river is one of my favorite things about the park. It’s super long (one of the longest in the state of TX) and was so much fun.

Grab Some Grub at the Hungry Wave

You already know I’m a foodie, so I couldn’t wait to grab a bite to eat. The Hungry Wave serves a wide variety of items including pizza, sandwiches, and more! You’ll receive personal service if you reserve a cabana, or you can order at the counter.

Bring the Family

If you’re in the mood for some family fun then bring the kids along for the ride! The kids area at Epic Waters is huge and there are tons of fun activities and slides for children of all ages to enjoy.

Get Some Playtime in at the Arcade

Another highlight of Epic Waters is the awesome arcade. There were so many arcade games to enjoy including skeeball, basketball, and one of my faves racing! We had a blast during our motorcycle race. Can you guess who won?

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Epic Waters has towels available for sale in their retail shop, but don’t forget to bring your own. Lockers are also available for rental

  • Bring Some Shades. The park has a retractable roof and is very bright so bring your sunglasses

  • Outside food and drinks are not permitted so leave your coolers at home

We really enjoyed our visit to Epic Waters and I can’t wait to go back. Don’t forget to visit their website for more information on hours and pricing. I’m already thinking about grabbing a few friends and making it a group getaway for a day. Have you visited Epic Waters?
