What's Up With Shasha: June 2018

May was a tough month for me. Many of you know that I took a well-needed break from social media and blogging. Historically, May has always been my happy month. It marks my wedding anniversary, and has significance for so many other reasons.
May 2018 was unlike any other May. I experienced a loss that I'm still trying to cope with and heal from. Blogging has allowed me to become very transparent, but there are still some things that I want to keep private and close to my heart. This is one of them. For those of you that are aware of the situation, I truly appreciate your support. I'm still on my healing journey, but things are slowly getting better with time.
During my blogging break I realized how much I missed being Shatia. My break put so many things into perspective for me. Trust me, I love blogging but I'm trying to do a better job of putting everything into it's proper place. I have a plate filled with content obligations in June, and I know my balancing skills will be put to the test. I'm up for the challenge and excited for you to see some of these collaborations.
In other news, I actually have a real vacation coming up! I'm heading back to Cabo, and this is the first time in a long time that I have ZERO blogger obligations. That probably sounds crazy to some of you, but I put so much work into creating my content that my sponsored trips are WORK. Do you remember this photo that was re-posted by Hilton last month?
I know it looks phenomenal, but I literally spent an entire morning taking photos with my hubby. So much work happens behind the scenes before you see the final product.
This getaway couldn't come at a better time. I'll probably take a few photos just to have in my content library but I'm going to do my best to stay off social media and enjoy the moments instead of constantly capturing them. However, since y'all love my travel content I'll be sure to publish a trip recap over here on the blog. In the meantime, you can find me on Insta.
