Southern Comfort at Cheever's Cafe Oklahoma City

I love Southern eating cuisine. During my recent visit to Oklahoma City, I visited Cheever's Cafe. Cheever's is well-known for their sophisticated Southern favorites. My husband and I chose to visit the restaurant for a late Saturday afternoon brunch.

We started our meal off with their famous homemade Cinnamon Roll. They should rename this dish to Ooey Gooey Goodness! The roll was sweet, hot, and moist.

After experiencing the goodness of this Cinnamon Roll, I was ready to get the entree party started.

Shrimp and Grits

I'm a firm believer that almost anything that's wrapped in bacon will taste good. I adored this dish! The flavor of the bacon was splendid and the shrimp were huge. This dish is very filling and I started to feel full after I got to the third shrimp.

I'm very picky when it comes to eating grits. The consistency of these were perfect. I also loved the Sriacha honey butter sauce.

Chicken Fried Steak

I truly understand why the Chicken Fried Steak at Cheever's is so popular. The beef was tender, the batter was crispy and the gravy was amazing. I love how roasted peekaboo potatoes were served underneath. They elevated the dish and were a nice change from eating chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes.

I would gladly make the drive back up to OKC to eat this dish. If you plan on visiting Cheever's the Chicken Fried Steak is a must-eat.

Roasted Pecan Ice Cream Ball

Although we were stuffed after our entrees, we couldn't pass up on Roasted Pecan Ice Cream Ball. This dessert was fantastic! It features vanilla ice cream rolled in pecans with brown sugar, cinnamon, and red chile then smothered in chocolate sauce.

My dining experience was fantastic. This is a great restaurant to visit for brunch, a lunch with friends, or a date night. The ambiance is casual yet elegant.

Have you ever visited Cheever's Cafe? What's your favorite thing to eat for brunch?

***Disclosure*** I received my meal complimentary in exchange for my review. However, I've got your back when it comes to sharing restaurants that will please your tastebuds and tummy!
