Comp Camp Houston Recap

There is no excess in the world so commendable as excessive gratitude.
— Jean De La Bruyere

My heart is so full. Last weekend, Ginger and I brought our Comp Camp: The Hotel Edition workshop to Houston and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! I never would've thought in a million years, that a simple idea aimed at educating and building a community of content creators would turn out to be so awesome!

We had over 30 bloggers in attendance  and it was wonderful to be able to meet, mingle, and talk all things comps. We partnered with the Houston Food Blogger Collective and the Royal Sonesta Houston to bring this awesome event to Houston.

The Royal Sonesta Houston was the perfect place to host our event. The room was comfortable and was an excellent size for our group. Chef Robert the hotel's Executive Chef, gave our guests a warm welcome and created a delicious assortment of bites for our post workshop reception.

The presentation was phenomenal and everything was delicious. I'm still having dreams about the duck!

During Comp Camp, we focus on teaching attendees how to effectively collaborate with public relations professionals. It was a pleasure to receive tips and tricks from Stuart Rosenberg of Studio Communications. His insight was extremely beneficial and he provided great suggestions for new and seasoned bloggers.

One of the highlight's of our event was the public relations panel that also included Michael Mandola and Jonathan Beitler. It was fantastic to gain insight on what PR professionals are looking for when it comes to partnering with bloggers.

Another one of my favorite things about Comp Camp is the swag! Ginger and I are all about that #heavyswagbaglife and our sponsors really came through for us!

We're so grateful for all of our outstanding swag bag sponsors including: Hiruna Island Soaps, Fahari Naturals, Vital Proteins, Eden Bodyworks, Beanitos Chips, Goodwipes, High Brew Coffee, Serengetee, and Knock Knock. Our swag bags were a hit and we received great feedback from our #CompCampers on social media.
