Pod DC: The Perfect Place to Stay in Chinatown, Washington DC

***Disclosure*** This review is published in partnership with Pod DC. All opinions are mine.

I decided to end my recent New York trip with a quick stopover in Washington, DC. Instead of staying nearby the National Mall, I opted to stay in Chinatown. Pod DC proved to be the perfect place for my stay.

Location

Pod DC is located right within the heart of Chinatown. The hotel’s location can’t be beat. The Chinatown/Gallery Place metro station is right across the street and it’s a short ride from Union Station and DCA (Ronald Reagan International Airport). There are tons of great restaurants, shops, and activities within a walking distance from the hotel. One of my faves shopping areas is CityCenterDC which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

I also love eating at 14th Street Cafe Asian Bistro which is close by. Plus, there are tons of great Chinese restaurants within walking distance so you can totally spend the night in and chomp on takeout. After all, you’re in Chinatown!

The Rooms

Large hotel rooms and unnecessary in-room items aren’t the Pod DC’s jam and I’m cool with that. The hotel is a micro-hotel which means that the rooms are smaller than traditional hotel rooms. You won’t find unnecessary items like coffee makers, microwaves, or bathtubs in any of the rooms. However, POD DC makes great use of the space and there were lots of hooks and shelves located throughout. Plus, the desk area was great for getting some work done.

The room was well appointed and there were lots of shelves in the bathrooms for my toiletries. I was so happy to see one of my favorite things in the shower…you guessed it, product dispensers!

The Instagram Friendly Lobby

As a Blogger, most people assume that eating at a hotel restaurant is against the rules. If that’s the case, then I’m a rule breaker and that rule should definitely change! Pod DC has 3 dining outlets you can choose from.

Crimson Diner, is an awesome restaurant located on the hotel’s main floor. It serves delicious comfort and southern cuisine and it has an amazing all-day breakfast menu. Don’t leave without order the chicken sandwich. The spicy honey is out of this world!

Crimson also features a super cute coffee bar where you can sip on a Chai latte while relaxing or getting a few shots for the gram.

Another chill option for a drink or bite is Crimson View located on the hotel’s penthouse level.

Crimson View is an awesome spot for sipping a drink while getting an incredible view of the Washington Monument. Crimson Whiskey Bar, located on the hotel’s lower level is another option to grab a drink.

Pod DC does so much more than give you a cool place to stay. Between the incredible on-site dining options, free walking tours, the Pod Run Club, yoga studio partnerships, and more it’s the perfect pick for a DC stay.

Thanks so much to POD DC for making my stay so incredible. I can’t wait to stay here the next time I’m in DC. Have you ever stayed at Pod DC or a Pod Hotel?
